Collective Soul Release “Eye On You” Video off ‘Touch and Go’ Album

Collective Soul have released a new music video for “Eye On You,” a track from their latest album, Touch And Go, which arrived July 31st via the band’s Fuzze-Flex Records, with physical distribution through AMPED Distribution and digital distribution via Virgin Music Group.

The new video embraces the nostalgic new wave influence that runs throughout Touch And Go. When recording the album, the band—Ed Roland (vocals/guitar/piano), Dean Roland (rhythm guitar), Will Turpin (bass), Jesse Triplett (lead guitar) and Johnny Rabb (drums)—looked toward the sound of The Cars and the broader ’80s new wave era for inspiration.

“Eye On You” has that Cars sound along with some Todd Rundgren feeling in the mix.

The ten-song Touch And Go was originally released as part of Record Store Day this past spring before receiving its wider release on digital platforms, CD and 180-gram teal-marble vinyl.

The album’s shift toward new wave has already drawn critical attention. Skopemag praised the record for its distinctive take on the era, highlighting Ed Roland’s vocal resemblance to The Cars’ Rick Ocasek, the prominent keyboard and synth work, and the way the guitars and rhythm section adapt to the style. Maximum Volume Music similarly noted that while Touch And Go may sound different from the Collective Soul many longtime fans remember, the band’s familiar guitars, melodies and harmonies remain at its core.

With more than 15 million albums sold worldwide, six Gold or Platinum albums and seven No. 1 singles—including “Shine,” “December” and “The World I Know”—Collective Soul are also continuing their North American headlining tour throughout the summer.
