Green Day Announce ‘NIMRODS’ Original Soundtrack; Share “I’m Never Gonna R.I.P.”

Green Day have announced the official soundtrack for the upcoming film NIMRODS, featuring a career-spanning collection of the band’s biggest songs alongside new material, exclusive live recordings, and contributions from the film’s cast and soundtrack artists.

Arriving on July 31st via CD, cassette, digital platforms, and multiple vinyl variants, the 30-track soundtrack celebrates nearly four decades of Green Day while introducing fans to the musical world of NIMRODS. The collection is available for pre-order now.

Leading the announcement is the brand-new Green Day single “I’m Never Gonna R.I.P.,” which is available to stream now alongside an official music video.

The soundtrack combines 22 classic Green Day tracks with exclusive material, including four previously unreleased live recordings captured during the band’s performance at the Hollywood Palladium, as featured in the film. It also includes music from The Paradox, Ultra Q, actress and musician McKenna Grace, and four songs performed by the fictional band Analog Dogs, who play a central role in the movie.

The soundtrack accompanies NIMRODS, a coming-of-age comedy arriving in theatres on August 14th.

Written and directed by Lee Kirk, the film follows three friends who mistakenly believe their band has landed an opening slot for Green Day on New Year’s Eve. Their cross-country road trip to Los Angeles quickly turns into a chaotic adventure inspired by Green Day’s own early years touring in a van.

The film stars Mason Thames, McKenna Grace, Kylr Coffman, Ryan Foust, Ignacio Diaz-Silverio, Keen Ruffalo, Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, Fred Armisen, Bobby Lee, and Sean Gunn.

With NIMRODS, Green Day continue expanding beyond music while celebrating the songs that have defined generations of punk rock fans.
