Folk’n Hay Brings New Energy On “Mystery” Remix

Folk’n Hay dropped their newest release “Mystery (Remix)” and it’s a new take on one of the Southwest Colorado duo’s most meaningful songs. Husband-and-wife musicians Matt and Maggie Kavan keep the heart of the original while delivering a bigger, more energetic performance and listening experience.

The remix features a catchy rhythm and horns that adds extra depth to the composition. But even with the bigger production, the duo’s close harmonies and honest songwriting shine front and center.

“‘Mystery (Remix)’ gave us the opportunity to revisit a song that was originally stripped down and give it greater dimension, weight and power—without losing the emotion at its core,” said Matt Kavan.

“Sometimes the truth really can be that simple.”

The lyrics paint a picture of difficult times before ending on a hopeful note. Phrases like, “It was a mystery when the truth came out,” while the closing words, “It’s going to be hard to see until you open your eyes,” leave a thought-provoking impression.

The final line, and what Maggie Kavan describes as her favorite, is delivered with a perfect succinctness: “Sometimes the truth really can be that simple.”
