Anika Joshi Explores Her Soulful Artistry in Immersive Live Performance of “Orion’s Belt”
Anika Joshi has released a Burning Pictures Live Session of her song “Orion’s Belt” from her latest EP ‘Radiance.’
Teaming up with Burning Bright Productions, Anika Joshi presents a cinematic live session for her radio-acclaimed single “Orion’s Belt” from her soul/R&B EP Radiance. Following the EP’s recognition across Australia, the UK, and beyond, this live session reimagines one of Joshi’s most beloved tracks with warm lighting, vintage textures, and an intimate performance setting.
Inspired by the quiet romance of stargazing with someone you love, “Orion’s Belt” captures the feeling of becoming completely immersed in another person. The track was praised by Nicole Mendes of The Other Side Reviews as one that “saunters into old-school soul meets jazz vibes, with the sultry silkiness of Sade, as well as a more contemporary breath of neo-soul.”
Filmed in a modest hall transformed with immersive lighting, atmospheric haze and a full live band, the session places Joshi’s soulful vocals and musicianship at its centre. Surrounded by her band, she delivers a heartfelt performance that celebrates connection while introducing a refreshed live arrangement, offering audiences a new way to experience one of Radiance‘s standout moments.
Joshi comments:
“I draw heaps on cinema and film, and how I can write music through it. I watch films sometimes and imagine, if there was a song here, what would it be? And that’s how I love to connect with my audience, filling those emotional gaps that can connect with them. This song felt like the lightbulb moment of the movie, where the main character enters that exciting honeymoon stage of their romance.”
