Still Remains Return After 10+ Years with New EP ‘Spirit Breaker’
Metalcore veterans Still Remains have announced their first new EP in more than a decade. ‘Spirit Breaker’ arrives June 12th via Arson Theory.
Grand Rapids, Michigan metalcore pioneers Still Remains have officially ended more than a decade of silence with the announcement of their new EP, Spirit Breaker, arriving June 12th via Arson Theory. The five-track release marks the band’s first collection of new material since 2013’s Ceasing to Breathe and signals a powerful return for one of the genre’s early innovators.
Best known for their influential 2005 Roadrunner Records debut Of Love and Lunacy, Still Remains helped shape the sound of early-2000s metalcore by blending melodic death metal influences, soaring keyboards, and aggressive hardcore energy. Following a lengthy hiatus and sporadic reunions, the band is now back with what they describe as their most personal and emotionally charged release to date.
Produced and co-written by Lee Albrecht (Hollow Front, Gore, Of Virtue), Spirit Breaker features artwork created by Kevin Moore of Mind Reader Inc., whose work on Spiritbox’s Tsunami Sea earned Album Artwork of the Year honours at the 2026 Juno Awards.
Speaking about the new EP, vocalist T.J. Miller explained that the band’s goal was to honour its roots while embracing a modern evolution.
“For this record, we tried to stay true to the sound that our fans have grown to love, but also evolve a bit and add some more modern influences into our sound. We wanted this to sound like an updated version of the classic Still Remains sound, and I think we pulled it off.”

The EP’s lead single, “The Wound And The Weapon,” features guest vocals from Guy Kozowyk of The Red Chord and served as the band’s first new music in more than 12 years. The track was followed by the newly released single “Erase You,” accompanied by an official music video directed by Dave Prindle.
