But it’s not just music they have added, we can announce the Word Stage will have Andrew O’Neill doing the History of Punk, there will be a Pub Quiz, Master Taskers, games and more. There is a stellar comedy lineup which includes Jamali Maddix (Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Taskmaster), Pierre Novellie (Mock the Week, Mash Report), Rachel Fairburn (All Killa No Filla Podcast, Live at the Apollo), and loads more.
As always, there is a huge array of kids’ programming to keep the little ones entertained. The Ogretones – are a Shrek Tribute Band, The Backhand Jags will bring the Kids Mosh Pits, and if they need a calming influence, we have kids’ yoga! Molly Kidz TV will be back for another year, as will Drag Queen Story Hour and all the usual crafts, forest school, games and play area. It really is like no other festival of its kind. Marshall returns to 2000trees bigger than ever. There will be on-site Marshall Shop for headphones, speakers and more at exclusive festival prices, they have The Marshall Stage (previously the Neu Stage), there will be Signings and Screen Printings with artists.
We all know that 2000trees Festival has some of the best food and drink traders, so this year is no different! Get your breakfast at Suzie’s, soak up the sun with some Jamaican for lunch at The Jerk Yard and then perhaps a late-night Curry Bae.
We’ve spent the last few years living through our phones. Big moments, small moments, world events… all flattened into the same stream of images, captions and inside jokes that somehow everyone understands. It’s weird, it’s chaotic, and for better or worse, it’s how we talk now. But TREES has always been about being somewhere real, with real people, shouting lyrics at each other in a field. No algorithm or scrolling, and no buffering. Just noise, the sunshine, beers, and whatever happens next. So this year, we’re bringing those two worlds together. We’re taking all that online chaos and dragging it out into the open. Turning it into something you can actually see, wear, laugh at with your mates, engage with, and feel in your fingers… instead of just tapping a screen. If you’ve ever sent a meme instead of replying properly, this one’s for you. The clash-finder is now live via the official 2000trees app, which you can download from the App Store.
As always, there is a host of good causes and charities that the festival helps. These include Tree Aid, Attitude Is Everything and Metal For Good.
As well as the above, we have Heads Above The Waves, Gig Buddies, Frank Water, Gig Buddies, Withington Community Fundraising, Women’s Institute and more. We’ll also be donating thousands to a number of local charities through fundraising initiatives locally.
