The Prince Estate has officially announced Timeless, a newly curated collection of rare and previously unreleased recordings spanning nearly four decades of the legendary artist’s career. Arriving on August 28th, 2026, via Legacy Recordings in partnership with The Prince Estate, the project marks the first Prince release assembled to represent every major era of his musical evolution.

The ten-track collection draws from Prince’s famed Vault recordings and includes material recorded between 1977 and 2016. According to the announcement, Timeless offers fans an expansive portrait of the artist’s creative journey, from his earliest studio work as a teenage prodigy in Minneapolis to one of his final live performances.

Alongside the announcement, the Estate has also released the previously unheard single “Stone,” a 1995 recording written by Sandra St. Victor, Tom Hammer, and Jules Van Even.

The album will receive its first major public spotlight during Prince Celebration 2026, taking place June 3rd to 7th across Paisley Park and downtown Minneapolis.

This year’s Celebration will include exclusive listening sessions, archival presentations, and conversations with Prince collaborators tied directly to the Timeless release. A major event at The Armory will feature appearances from members of the New Power Generation, along with Bobby Z and Lisa Coleman of The Revolution.

Additional details and ticketing information are available through Paisley Park’s Celebration page.

The event also coincides with the tenth anniversary year of Prince Celebration, prompting Jacob Frey to officially proclaim June 1st to 7th, 2026 as “Prince Celebration Week” in Minneapolis. In tribute, the city skyline will reportedly be illuminated in purple on June 6th.

Timeless will be released digitally as well as in multiple physical formats, including: D2C-exclusive Purple Marble Vinyl, Standard black vinyl, and CD edition.

Fans will also have access to exclusive Timeless merchandise and collectible items through Paisley Park and Prince.com.

Earlier this year, the Estate previewed the collection with the release of “With This Tear,” unveiled on April 2nd to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Prince’s passing. The previously unreleased 1991 recording drew praise from outlets including Rolling Stone and Billboard.
