Monolord & Dunable Guitars Unveil Limited-Edition Signature Guitar & Bass Models

Swedish doom metal heavyweights Monolord have teamed up with Dunable Guitars to launch a pair of exclusive signature instruments inspired by the band’s crushing sound and distinctive aesthetic.

The collaboration introduces the Dunable USA Custom Gnarwhal signature guitar for vocalist and guitarist Thomas Jäger and the Dunable R2 Bass signature model for bassist Mika Häkki, with production limited to just six units of each instrument.

The announcement arrives as Monolord continue their U.S. tour in support of their latest album, Neverending. According to the companies, the partnership reflects nearly a decade of collaboration, with the band relying on Dunable instruments both in the studio and on stage.

Thomas Jäger states:

“Mika and I have been playing our Dunables for a couple of years now, and to get your own instrument with your own specifications, it’s pure magic. These instruments came out great, and we’re absolutely stoked.”

Mika Häkki added that seeing his vision for a scorched-looking bass come to life was especially rewarding.

Both signature models feature a custom Monolord icon graphic on the headstock, tuxedo stripe pickguard, and a charred swamp ash body designed to complement the band’s dark visual identity.

Jäger’s signature Gnarwhal is equipped with a single Lollar High-Wind P90 pickup, offering versatility from clean passages to heavily fuzzed-out doom tones. The guitar features a mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard, Graph Tech hardware, and a satin lacquer finish.

Meanwhile, Häkki’s R2 Bass is available in two configurations. One version uses dual Dunable Katana pickups for aggressive output and attack, while the other pairs Dunable D-Split and D-J pickups to provide a more traditional bass voice. Both versions feature maple necks, ebony fingerboards, and charred swamp ash bodies.

The limited-run instruments are available now directly from Dunable Guitars.

With only six examples of each signature model being produced, the collaboration is aimed squarely at collectors and fans looking for a rare piece of Monolord history alongside a professional-grade instrument built for massive, fuzz-driven tones.
