Coinciding with the release, Metallica has also launched the latest edition of its #GetTheReLoadOut fan competition.

Following the success of last year’s #GetTheLoadOut, this year’s contest expands beyond musical covers to include visual and performance artists. Throughout the campaign, fans have been submitting interpretations of songs from ReLoad, with two grand prize winners set to receive an autographed ReLoad (Remastered) Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set.

Originally released on November 18, 1997, ReLoad became Metallica’s third consecutive album to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, spending nearly 80 weeks on the chart while reaching No. 1 in six countries.

Recorded during the same creative sessions that produced 1996’s Load, the album showcased the band experimenting beyond its thrash roots. Tracks such as “Low Man’s Lyric” featured hurdy-gurdy and violin, while Marianne Faithfull delivered her unforgettable guest vocal on “The Memory Remains.”

Nearly three decades later, songs like “Fuel” and “The Memory Remains” remain staples of Metallica’s live performances during the band’s ongoing “M72 World Tour,” underscoring the album’s enduring legacy.
