Mastodon Drop “Your Ghost Again” Single; Confirm North American Tour with Deafheaven

Progressive metal titans Mastodon have returned with their first new music since 2021, unveiling the emotionally charged new single “Your Ghost Again” alongside news of an upcoming North American tour with Deafheaven.

The new track arrives during a deeply emotional chapter for the band and explores themes of grief, loss, and reflection. “Your Ghost Again” was written and recorded during a turbulent period marked by the death of former bandmate Brent Hinds and the passing of drummer Brann Dailor’s mother.

The band described the song as a product of “an unimaginably chaotic and difficult time,” channelling personal tragedy into one of their most emotionally resonant releases to date.

The single hints at what could be the beginning of a new era for Mastodon, whose last full-length album, Hushed and Grim, was released in 2021 to widespread critical acclaim.
