Once the melody takes hold, the song conveys a light, pushing rhythm topped by delicious layers of harmonics, including a pulsating bassline and accents from a twinkling piano. Carey’s vocals contain the song’s spark – lustrous and evocative, tinted with sadness yet brimming with expectancy.
