Wounded Touch Announce EP, ‘They Promised Eden (Vol. 1)’

Michigan metalcore outfit Wounded Touch are back with their most devastatingly heavy material yet. This Friday, May 8th, the band will release They Promised Eden (Vol. 1), a three-song EP on Smartpunk Records. Today, they unveil the feverish single “A Weapon In God’s Country” featuring guest vocals from Jack Murray of 156/Silence. A monstrous scream and blast beats lead off the track, setting up for intense chord progressions and weighty rhythms. Murray delivers the second verse before vocalist Nick Holland takes it back with his impassioned approach. The single was produced and recorded by Wounded Touch at Bright Black Earth in Saginaw, MI, with mixing by Andy Nelson and mastering by Ryan “Bart” Williams.

The video for “A Weapon In God’s Country” finds Wounded Touch giving a powerful performance spliced with explosive imagery that represents the chaotic state of the world.

Diving into the single, Holland shares:

“Lyrically, the song is about an anticipated and not-so-distant foreseeable conflict where a unified common man wages a secular holy war against the upper echelon of the technocratic class, the anti-human collective of leadership in the field of surveillance, data mining and constructing of data centers. It depicts the collective human spirit, after suffering enough of their inhumanity, casting its divisions aside and waging a brutal crusade against their systems of weaponry and surveillance.”

Wounded Touch will head to New York this weekend for a pair of shows with Bore. The band has several Michigan dates on deck this summer, including shows with Kaonashi and Harvest, and a performance at Pug Fest. See all dates below.

Formed in 2018, Wounded Touch crafts heavy, emotionally charged music rooted in tension, atmosphere, and controlled aggression. Their sound balances weight and restraint—pairing crushing riffs with dynamics that allow songs to breathe while maintaining a constant sense of unease. They Promised Eden (Vol. 1) marks the first part of a longer body of material set for release later this year.
