After more than five years, The Boredom Corporation is back with a brand new album, Someone I Might Like. The 12-song project is born from the mind of Boise musician Brock Glaisyer, who does it all. From writing to recording to playing every instrument on the album.

The album kicks off with a fresh take on the classic, “A Thousand Miles”, setting the tone with a big pop rock sound. From there, it mixes pop-punk, emo, and alternative styles, while also showcasing some new sonic elements that reflect how much Glaisyer has grown in the five years since his last album.

As the album gets going, one example of a standout track is “Hey, I Get It.” It’s packed with big guitars and a hook that sticks in your head. The chorus lines “Hey I get it / I can be pathetic / So just forget it” have a transportative quality creating an addictive listen.

Thematically, the album touches on real-life subjects like growing apart from friends, figuring out relationships, and dealing with change. The single “Pennsylvania” leans into that, focusing on distance and how people drift over time.

Recorded in a bedroom studio, the album keeps things simple and authentic. In the words of the artist, “Someone I Might Like is by far the best and my favorite work that I’ve done to date.” It’s a strong step for The Boredom Corporation and a gateway for more to come.
