Maryland hard rock outfit Any Given Sin have officially returned with their brand-new single, “Lifeline,” the first taste of a forthcoming studio album due later in 2026. According to the band, “Lifeline” explores themes of betrayal, hopelessness, and forgiveness:
“Lifeline is a song about betrayal; and the sometimes hopeless feeling that’s associated with that. And how in most cases forgiveness is the only real way to peace. We feel this track is highly relatable to most of the inhabitants of this planet, and no doubt many other worlds as well.”
Known for blending emotionally charged songwriting with modern hard rock intensity, Any Given Sin continue leaning into deeply personal subject matter on the new material. Vocalist Victor Richie and guitarist Mike Conner reportedly developed much of the upcoming album while writing together during long stretches on the road, often crafting lyrics late at night in motel rooms between tour dates.
“The lyrics definitely happen in seclusion,” Conner explained. “Victor and I have spent many nights in motels just writing words on paper until 3am, no matter when we need to wake up. It’s a long and meticulous process, but it’s really open. We’re speaking truthfully to one another. We’re dealing with darker subjects like sadness and depression. That’s usually what comes out in almost every song.”
Since emerging with their 2015 independent Forbidden EP, Any Given Sin have steadily built a loyal following in the hard rock world. Their breakout single “Dynamite” surpassed 13 million streams and became SiriusXM Octane’s “#1 Most-Spun Song on Octane’s Accelerator,” while later singles “Insidious” and “Another Life” both reached #1 on SiriusXM.
Their debut full-length album, War Within, arrived in 2023 to strong critical praise, helping cement the band’s reputation for combining heavy riffs with melodic, theatrical songwriting. The album has reportedly accumulated more than 70 million streams worldwide, with an additional 20 million streams generated by their cover of Cutting Crew classic “(I Just) Died In Your Arms.”
Conner says the band remains motivated by the impact their music has had on listeners:
“It took a long time for us to make it this far, and we’re going to kick it in the ass until we can’t do it anymore. I’ve gotten a lot of messages from people who will tell us our songs got them through hard times. We hope to bring listeners comfort.”
