Eraserheads Documentary ‘Combo On The Run’ Set for Global Netflix Premiere on May 30th
The Eraserheads documentary film ‘Combo On The Run’ is scheduled to make its global premiere on Netflix on May 30th.
The acclaimed Filipino music documentary Eraserheads: Combo On The Run is heading to a global audience when it premieres on Netflix on May 30th, 2026.
Streaming in more than 190 countries, the film chronicles the story and legacy of legendary Filipino rock band Eraserheads through an updated and newly reworked version featuring never-before-seen footage, additional material, and a refined edit designed to broaden the documentary’s international appeal.
Directed and produced by Maria Diane Ventura, the documentary explores not only the band’s cultural impact on Pinoy pop culture but also deeper themes of friendship, identity, conflict, reconciliation, and healing.
Ventura described the global Netflix launch as “incredibly humbling,” emphasizing the importance of sharing the Eraserheads’ distinctly Filipino story with audiences around the world.
Ventura shares:
“This film has always meant so much to us, and to see it travel beyond our borders in this way is very special. What’s been most meaningful is hearing how people connect to it on a personal level, the sense of healing, and the pride in being Filipino.”
According to Ventura, the updated cut was created to make the documentary more accessible to viewers unfamiliar with the band while preserving the emotional core of the original film.
Ventura explains:
“The re-edit was not about changing the story but about refining how it’s told. We want to make sure the emotional throughline remains strong while shaping it in a way that feels more expansive and accessible.”
The filmmaker added that the goal was to ensure that even viewers discovering the Eraserheads for the first time could connect with the band’s journey and its universal themes.
The documentary’s worldwide streaming debut marks another major milestone for the influential Filipino group, whose music and cultural impact continue to resonate across generations.
