BETS Will Make You Smile with Her Single “I’ll Make You Mine” [Premiere]
Set to be featured on the new film ‘Just Look Up,’ indie pop singer-songwriter BETS premieres her new single “I’ll Make You Mine.”
In a climate of negativity, BETS arrives with an infusion of something positive with her new single, “I’ll Make You Mine.” The first song to come from her upcoming full-length album is a song about love and longing. It could be longing for your loved ones, or just longing for love in general. Everyone has their own dreams, and BETS wants you to stay focused on your own. To want to pursue love, dreams, and hope is a beautiful thing in itself. It implies confidence in yourself and optimism towards creating something worth fighting for.
“I’ll Make You Mine” is also featured on the soundtrack to the new film Just Look Up. It is a forthcoming documentary focused on climate activism, which will debut at the Tribeca Film Festival next month. The same type of diligence conveyed in “I’ll Make You Mine” is very much an underlying theme of Just Look Up as well.
Regarding “I’ll Make You Mine,” BETS states:
“This song is about how fun it is to just want. To want love, to want your people, to want your dreams. Being in that state of yearning and creating is a beautiful place to be.”
BETS is the pseudonym of songwriter Betsy Hershey. She has been writing music as BETS for over a decade now. In that time, she has amassed a dedicated fanbase who love her for her honest, loving approach to her art. Based in Brooklyn, she has been working closely with her friend, the artist van Bosch, who has become both her bandmate and producer. It’s a collaboration that has grown and brought out the best in Hershey.
She is currently putting the finishing touches on her latest album. It will be centred on love in all of its shapes and sizes, and the drive to create and do something significant. BETS is living proof of someone with an unwavering drive who is doing her role to contribute something positive to society. One of the core elements you can take away from her art is that, in the end, no matter what the circumstances, love must rule over all else.
