Austin City Limits Reveals Stacked 25th Anniversary Lineup
Austin City Limits returns to Texas this year at Austin’s Zilker Park for the first two weekends of October celebrating its 25th year.
Austin City Limits will return to Texas this year at Austin’s Zilker Park for the first two weekends of October, celebrating its 25th year as Austin’s premier music festival. The full lineup was revealed earlier in May, with headliners Charli XCX, Twenty One Pilots, and Rüfüs Du Sol set to take the stage alongside Skrillex (weekend 1), Kings of Leon (weekend 2), Lorde, and The XX. For some of these artists, it will be their long-awaited return to ACL’s stage – Lorde last came to the festival back in 2014, and Twenty One Pilots last performed back in 2015.
Earlier this week, ACL also released their full day-by-day lineups alongside single-day tickets. This year’s fest is slated to have nine stages packed with talent from these big headliner names all the way down to local and up-and-coming artists, so there will truly be something for everyone. EDM fans will enjoy sets by The Chainsmokers, SOFI TUKKER, and Steve Aoki, while those looking for some more mainstream pop will find Natasha Bedingfield, “Friday” star Rebecca Black, and Audrey Hobert.
Friday kicks off the weekend strong with Charli XCX’s headlining set, but fans can also took forward to rock band Turnstile, Brandon Flowers of The Killers (weekend 1), LP, CMAT, and Amyl and the Sniffers. Known for her breakout hit “Messy,” Lola Young has made her way to near the top of Saturday’s lineup alongside Puerto-Rican artist Young Miko. Other Saturday highlights include producer Jack Antonoff’s musical project Bleachers, Suki Waterhouse, Sienna Spiro (weekend 2), Balu Brigada, and Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard. Alongside Twenty One Pilots, closing out the weekends on Sunday will be The XX, Geese, Blood Orange, FCUKERS, Underscores, Charlotte Lawrence (weekend 2), and Lauren Sanderson (weekend 1).
A great way to get out of the shade and enjoy another side of the festival is to visit ACL’s smallest stage, the Bonus Tracks stage, which will host additional content like interviews, podcasts, cooking demos, drag performances, and more. Past appearances included Billie Eilish, Noah Cyrus, Japanese Breakfast, The Beaches, and more, in addition to surprise acoustic sets from artists on the lineup.
As has been the case since 2006, ACL is partnering with the Austin Parks Foundation as a way to give back to the venue that has been its home for so many years. Last year, ACL Fest generated $8.5 million to give to the park through their ticket sales, and these funds have been used on several projects in Chestnut Pocket Park, Grand Meadow Neighbourhood Park, Onion Creek Metropolitan Park, and several sports courts.
3-day GA and GA+ tickets for weekend 1 are already sold out, but single-day tickets for both weekends and 3-day options for weekend 2 are still available. This year, ACL has also upgraded their VIP experience, bringing back complimentary alcoholic beverages, setting up a new air-conditioned lounge, and making sure to have dedicated VIP entrances to the festival. Tickets can be purchased on their website here.
