Triple Billboard charting adult contemporary singer-songwriter Michael Gilas releases his new single, “You Don’t Get To Say Goodbye,” a pop ballad that explores the passage of a love story, from its initial exhilaration to the heartache of being cast aside.

“You Don’t Get To Say Goodbye” follows on the heels of “Where Do We Go From Here” and “You and Me and Miami,” along with other hits like “Working with the Rain,” a soulful song with the lyrical hook, “I’m betting on sunshine, and working with the rain.” The song rose to #13 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart.

He followed with “Can’t Hide Beautiful,” a song that ascended to #21 on the Billboard Hot Adult Contemporary chart and reached #37 on the Adult Contemporary chart. The aforementioned “You and Me and Miami” rose to #29 on the Billboard Adult Pop Airplay.

Gilas has collaborated with artists such as Kent Wells (Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Reba McEntire), Stephen Wrench, Allan Phillips, and bass player Jon Peña, who has performed with Chaka Khan, Carlos Santana, and Diana Ross.

Gilas’ road to success wasn’t a walk in the park. A horseback riding accident left him injured and changed his life. While recovering, Gilas had an epiphany that inspired him to use music as a means to heal and connect with others.

“You Don’t Get To Say Goodbye” rolls out on buoyant, pop surfaces wrapped in tints of tropical flavors, akin to a cross between Ambrosia and The Beach Boys. Backed by luminously glowing vocal harmonies, Gilas’ smooth, rich voice imbues the lyrics with passionate retro flavors. It’s one of those evocative, pleasing voices that convey a sense of warm sensations.

Shadowed by a sense of lost innocence, with “You Don’t Get To Say Goodbye,” Michael Gilas turns heartbreak into triumph.
