High Valley closed their “Paradise & Hurricanes Tour” at Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom last week.

The Canadian country band, which is turning 30 years old next year, embarked on a tour through 18 Canadian cities during the month of March.

This was an early show; the band started their performance at 8:00 pm because they were having a meet and greet after the concert, something atypical, but I’m sure the fans would have enjoyed it anyway.

They opened with “Paradise and Hurricane,” followed by “Dear Life,” and “County Line.” The fans were euphoric and sang every single song from start to end. Brad Rempel, lead singer, wanted to add a few songs that his father used to sing to him when he was a child, “Way Down Deep,” “Come on Down,” and “Hallelujah I’m Ready.”

They had a small caustic session where they covered “Single Again” by Josh Rossa, and “Jesus ‘bout my kids” by Luke Bryan. Brad was engaging with the fans a lot and got off the stage twice during the show, the first time while performing “Whatever It Takes” and later during “Grew Up On That.”

They tried to end their performance with “I Be U Be,” but the fans started shouting one more song, and the band came back and delivered two songs, “I’m Leaving You” and an extended version of “Make You Mine.”
