Die Twice continue their ascent as one of the year’s most enigmatic and compelling new bands, announcing a new single, “Wishbone” – a song that flickers, fractures, and refuses to settle. The track follows the stark and brooding single, “Jakobo,” with both songs featuring on the band’s debut independent EP release via FAEAccept Me Like A Lie, out May 27th.

Built from a deep internal exchange within the band, “Wishbone” simmers with a paranoid, slow-burning intensity. A stop-start groove underpins delicate pizzicato strings before the track splinters into a towering crescendo. Olly Bayton’s vocal leads the charge, shifting from a restrained, gentle tenor into a gravel-edged scream as Billy Twamley’s guitar shimmers through a dense swell of strings.

So, the old man called me ‘Wishbone’ / he didn’t know it could make me cry, ” Bayton laments — a line that cuts to the core of the track’s emotional weight. Speaking on the single, Bayton explains, “This song is a vulnerable man screaming at something bigger than himself. It holds hope, but it’s also a journey through pressure — trying to find acceptance when you’ve been made to feel small.

Accept Me Like A Lie was written by the band at a point of transition, forged in the heat of the band’s magnetic live performances. Produced by Ru Lemer (Foals), mixed by Adrian Hall (Depeche Mode, Anna Clavi) and mastered by Nick Watson (Sea Girls, Warpaint), across five tracks, the EP unfolds at a hypnotic pace, patient and deliberate, allowing atmosphere to bloom before erupting into full-band catharsis. Rather than pandering to erratic attention spans, Die Twice offer a counterpoint, drawing listeners into a luxuriant sonic world that threads together cinematic intimacy and a restless emotional sweep.
