Alt-pop/rock singer-songwriter Davie Simmons releases his new single, “Living Legacy,” a track from his upcoming album, a 13-track collection of songs slated to drop later this year.

First written as a poem when Simmons was 28 and finally released as a finished recording nearly fifty years later, “Living Legacy” examines the meaningful passage of life. The single finds Simmons, now in his seventies, revisiting a portion of his past.

Simmons no longer recalls the original muse behind the lyrics, but that uncertainty has given way to something more emotionally substantial: a tribute to his wife, affectionately known as Angel the Harpist. The song reveals that history without overstating it, letting years of shared experience surface through measured storytelling and quixotic feelings.

“Living Legacy” avoids grand gestures in favor of sincerity. Simmons’ delivery does the work, conveying memory and meaning without using nostalgia as a prop. The result feels lived‑in and organic.

Drenched in retro pop flavors that glide gently over a subdued rhythm, the melody of “Living Legacy” features sparkling accents and shimmering textures. Simmons’ vocals, weathered and raspy, are half-spoken, while occasionally drifting into a more melodic flow. Oozing profound emotions, the lyrics express the overwhelming mood and sentiment of true love, a love that lasts forever and never fades.
