St. Louis-brewed pop-rock-boom outfit Chorus Truly is on the road in support of their first EP featuring full band recordings: Is As Real As You Are, out April 24th on Gentle Reminder / Home Late. The collection is influenced by an R.E.M. cover band (a different one), devastating heartbreak, radio’s most satisfying songs of youth, moonlit canyon sleep, and years in punk’s dingiest dives.
Gentle Reminder is extremely chuffed to be sharing music from the incredibly vibrant and inspiring St. Louis DIY scene. The label, celebrating 10 years in 2026, began in Baltimore and spent many years operating out of New York City. But relocation was inevitable after a visit to St. Louis and other fabulous towns of the U.S.A. Midwest.
Chorus Truly is led by another former East Coaster, Zo Talkin, who cut their teeth in the Philadelphia punk scene. They played in bands such as Mint, Dolly, Cabbage, and Prob No. Label scouts first saw Zo play music with the incredible Fire Roast (featuring Nina and Climax Lander Ani of Palberta). In CT, Zo writes the songs, sings, and plays guitar. On drums is Martin Meyer (Lumpy and the Dumpers, Fried E/M, Soup Activists), on bass is TJ Pearson (Crisis Walkins, Carte de Visite), on guitars are Pete Millar (BB Eye, Smiling Strangers, Newt Patrol) and Mikey Crotty (Ratboys, Dowsing).
