Catherine Harrison Releases Her New Book, ‘Leading in Stereo’
Catherine Harrison—leadership strategist, mental health expert, and trusted advisor to leaders at all levels — releases her new book, ‘Leading in Stereo,’ now available worldwide.
Following the national impact of the Soundcheck Report, Catherine Harrison—leadership strategist, mental health expert, and trusted advisor to leaders at all levels — releases her new book, Leading in Stereo, now available worldwide.
Already adopted by over 200 leaders across sectors, Leading in Stereo is the first book to explicitly connect mental health research, workplace best practices, and human-centred leadership frameworks tailored specifically to the realities of the music business.
At its core, the book delivers a clear and urgent message: we won’t solve the mental health crisis if we don’t solve the leadership crisis. The data to prove it came from an industry where the human cost of poor leadership has never been fully documented until now. The music industry’s unique realities, like underdeveloped leadership capability, financial precarity, and loose organizational infrastructure, make its dysfunction both visible and well-documented. Leading in Stereo uses that case study to deliver tools and frameworks that apply everywhere, because what breaks people in music breaks people everywhere.
The release of Leading in Stereo follows Harrison’s groundbreaking Soundcheck Report, published in February 2026, which captured insights from more than 1,250 Canadian music workers.
That research led to the creation of the Soundcheck Collective, a new initiative dedicated to turning insight into action through accessible, community-based learning, programming, and leadership development opportunities for music industry professionals.
In direct support of that mission, 50% of all book proceeds from Leading in Stereo will go toward Soundcheck Collective programming, helping meet the growing demand from music professionals seeking tools, guidance, and change. Said Harrison:
“After 13 years advising leaders across many sectors, the pattern is consistent: people usually want to lead well. They just haven’t been given the tools to navigate the complex realities of our modern times. This book is a response to that call.”
