In an era where it feels like nothing matters anymore, thank god for artists with some conviction like Adorn. There is a traditional sense of faith and principle within the band, one of the defining factors of their new album, Let Love Remain. Set for release on April 10th, this is the Dallas, Texas band’s debut full-length record. They recently revealed the album’s second single, “Pass the Pulse,” a nice sample of the album’s themes and placement. Politically charged, the song focuses on community dissolution and the possibility of human solidarity. There’s an anger within the song, but also a plea that comes with some urgency.

Let Love Remain builds off of these themes, taking a closer look at cultural division and the conviction that real connection is still worth something. It’s easy to overlook these sentiments and ideas as being dated or having fallen out of favour. But Adorn still see the value in traditional and natural harmony. In an age where it feels like it can be every man for himself, Adorn is here to remind us of the positive aspects of humanity.

Commenting on the record, lead singer Austin Gordon states:

Let Love Remain is a record of urgency, speaking to the moment of now with songs exploring the impermanence of goodness in our world, tribalism and nationalism and the ways they invalidate and scapegoat innocent people, influencer and wellness culture, existentialism, the pursuit of reclaiming our humanity, and more. With so much noise and insincere, corporatized speak dominating the conversations of the internet and consumer culture, we felt the push to highlight the qualities of being sincere that are inextricable from being human: the need to support one another, celebrate the stories of those who bravely faced abject suffering, rebuild what is unjustly broken, and hopefully, let love be the guiding force that makes that happen. Let love be what remains when all else is stripped away.”

Formed in 2021, Adorn features an ensemble of well-established musicians from the Dallas and Fort Worth area. Over the course of the last five years, their sound has evolved organically. They don’t necessarily identify with any one style. It’s more about the feeling of the music and the raw emotional weight. The band is not afraid of confronting uncomfortable truths. Their songs discuss topics like political decay, fractured communities, and moral disintegration. Ultimately, they cling to hope as the only reliable response. There’s a power in the band, both within their sound and their message. And in an age of political and social turmoil, Adorn will happily remind us of the things that matter in life.
