There’s a special quality to electronic music which William Bleak really hones in on today with the premiere of their new single “Ghost Waltz.” The Berlin-based group delivers an absolute banger with “Ghost Waltz,” a frantic, pulsating fiesta of the potential and possibilities of electronic dance music.

William Bleak put together a deliberate attempt to overload your senses with layers of intensifying noise that almost feel hypnotic. And it all came together as a result of a number of long nights they spent experimenting with analog synthesizers. This is a track to get completely lost in, which speaks to the essence of EDM in general. William Bleak demonstrates complete control and a real savvy for their chosen art, an ability to wield and bend noise in all the right angles and directions.

Commenting on the song, the band states:

“A song for the place you find yourself when the drinks have been too many and the chemistry too effective. For losing yourself in the moment, and staying lost. ‘Ghost Waltz’ is a digital demolition of the senses.”

“Ghost Waltz” marks the beginning of a bit of a new era for the group. The track will be featured on their upcoming album, their first since signing with Breathing Records. The album will be a scorching, intuitive trip through goth and industrial-flavoured electronic music. There’s more to William Bleak than just synths, though. They also incorporate guitars and growling basslines into their songs, demonstrating a musical versatility that separates them from other electronic-focused acts. It doesn’t come as a surprise, given their roots.

The Berlin-based William Bleak was once a post-punk trio that played dreamy, melancholic rock songs. Over time, their sound evolved towards a bolder, heavier approach. A lot of this transition towards heavier material was inspired by the harsh winters that Berlin often gets. This new sound is the perfect fusion of dance and punk, with a certain despair reminiscent of old school German trance and krautrock. This is music you can feel, delivered by artists who want to challenge you in a way that conventional artists just can’t.
