VinylCon! makes its long-awaited return to the West Coast with a two-day celebration of vinyl culture at the California Market Center (CMC) in Downtown Los Angeles on March 21st and 22nd. The event, hailed as “the largest record fair in California that anyone can remember,” has announced its DJ lineup curated by renowned DJ and collector Skeme Richards, which includes headlining sets by internationally acclaimed DJs The Gaslamp Killer and DJ Nu-Mark.

Discogs will participate in VinylCon! as an official partner in the event with activations designed to support both collectors and vendors. On the convention floor, Discogs will host a tech-forward booth offering product demos, exclusive merch giveaways, and a raffle, alongside special interviews with legendary music host Matt Pinfield.

Additional brand partnerships include Pioneer DJ by Alpha Theta, Monster Energy, APM Music, and Fatbeats. The event will also host record label partnerships by Now Again, Daptone, Penrose, and Jazz is Dead, who will all be on-site showcasing their catalogues. KCRW is VinylCon’s official radio partner, who is engaging in several promotional activities in spreading the word and supporting the event.

On partnering with VinylCon!, KCRW Music Director Alejandro Cohen says:

“Vinyl culture has always been at the heart of KCRW’s musical DNA. Events like VinylCon! remind us that collecting, digging, and sharing records is about community as much as it is about music. We’re excited for KCRW to partner with VinylCon and celebrate the people and passion that keep vinyl culture alive.”

The bar at the event will be curated by Only the Wild Ones, a listening bar dedicated to natural wines, small-batch spirits, and analog sound. With locations in Venice, California and New York City, the brand will soon expand to Austin, Texas. Expressing the important collaboration efforts between brands, Only The Wild Ones founder and owner Heather Tierrney says:

“We’re thrilled to partner with VinylCon! to curate the bar program for the Los Angeles show. Our brands share a deep appreciation for analog culture and the kind of real-world connection that happens through music.”

With established editions in Atlanta, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Denver, VinylCon! has quickly grown into a multi-city movement, uniting collectors, DJs, and music lovers across the country under a shared love of vinyl culture, and now looks forward to making an even bigger splash at its second iteration in Los Angeles.

The inaugural LA edition welcomed over 2,500 people through the doors, featured 80+ dealers from across the country and abroad (including international sellers from Japan and Holland), and was widely praised by collectors, DJs, and music lovers alike.

VinylCon! founder Kobi Waldenfogel comments:

“The first VinylCon! LA exceeded all of our expectations, and we were blown away by the support from the LA music community. We can’t wait to return to CMC and raise the bar even further on what a record fair can be!”

After drawing thousands of music lovers from across the country, VinylCon! brings its unique blend of community, culture, and crate-digging back to one of the nation’s most music-rich cities, offering a massive and diverse selection for collectors at every level. The March event is expected to exceed those numbers, with an even larger dealer presence of 100+ vendors, expanded international participation with multiple dealers travelling from the UK, and a wider and deeper selection of records across genres, era, and rarities.

Waldenfogel states:

“As a collector and enthusiast myself, I felt like the record fair I wanted to attend simply didn’t exist. VinylCon! is meant to be both accessible to newcomers and respected by veteran collectors. The LA edition will continue to raise the bar.”

In addition to The Gaslamp Killer and DJ Nu-Mark, the DJ lineup includes DJ Alfonso, DJ Mores Code, Skeme Richards, Majoos, Big Happy, Anthony Masino, D.Stro, DJ Inform, and Ren (Sweater Funk).

VinylCon! promises to be a welcome space for music lovers to connect, discover, and celebrate the physical format.

VinylCon! takes place Saturday, March 21st and Sunday, March 22nd at the California Market Center (CMC) (110 E 9th St, Los Angeles, CA 90079). Tickets are on sale now, with more details to be announced shortly. Parking is available in the attached garage at the venue.
