Harsh Language is back with their latest release “To Nothing.” It’s a loud, emotional track that showcases a new side of the band. It’s also the first single from their debut album Time Won’t Wait For You, giving listeners a taste of what’s to come. The new single leans harder into electronic qualities while still maintaining the heavy rock edge the band has become known for.

The band members, Sean Shreeve (Guitar/Vocals), Rob Green (Bass/Vocals), and Alec Albury (Drums), have built their sound by blending big, alternative rock guitars with dark, moody electronics. Their sound draws some parallels to greats like Deftones, Placebo, and Depeche Mode.

“. . . it was important to create something that retained our melancholy optimist sound but also felt fresh.”

Musically, “To Nothing” comes out the gates swinging. The guitars are thick and distorted, creating what feels like a wall of sound. The drums deliver big, punchy snare hits with a percussionary presence reminiscent of the 1980s. Underneath it all are bright, almost hyperpop-style synths that give the track a new element of energy.

In their words, “‘To Nothing’ represents an alternative sound for us a band, fully delving more into electropop but with wall of noise shoegaze guitars – it was important to create something that retained our melancholy optimist sound but also felt fresh.”

“To Nothing” is bold, loud, and clearly a fresh step for Harsh Language. Listen to the new single, out now, and don’t go far because the new album is coming just around the corner.
