Brooklyn-based alternative R&B artist INDVGO invites listeners into the quiet spaces of their own thoughts with her atmospheric new single “Not About You,” released February 20, 2026. A cinematic, late-night soundscape built for introspection, the track marks a deepening of the artist’s signature blend of moody grooves and emotional candour.
Unlike typical breakup anthems that point outward, “Not About You” turns the spotlight inward. INDVGO’s narrative explores the tension between claiming emotional independence and still wrestling with lingering thoughts. She explains:
“It’s really the internal monologue fighting your pride. You say you’ve moved on, but you still catch yourself thinking about it… acting like the song isn’t about them. And technically? It’s not. It’s about you.”
Sonically, the track leans into nocturnal minimalism. Engineer and producer Jorelle Montes shapes a sound that’s spacious yet intimate, grounding INDVGO’s self-aware lyricism in warm low end and sparse, breathy production.
