Birds of Bellwoods Unveils Fresh Track, “Corolla”

Toronto-based indie project Birds of Bellwoods, led by founding member Stevie Joffe, returns with “Corolla,” a haunting and introspective new single that marks the continuation of a deeply personal new chapter for the project.
Written and recorded alongside producer and collaborator Keegan Grebanier, the track follows the recent single “Miss You Yet,” together forming a connected cycle of songs exploring grief, transition, and the strange emotional suspension that follows loss.
Joffe says:
“‘Corolla’ is my second release as Birds Of Bellwoods since the departure of the project’s other founding members. It was created with Keegan Grebanier and serves alongside ‘Miss You Yet’ as a kind of update from purgatory. The song is a moment that stretches forever in every direction. A kind of ‘always, right now’, a memory that threatens to consume reality. Whereas Miss You Yet was denial and anger, this song is bargaining and depression: a willingness to surrender everything you’ve learned from your loss to the dream of the past.”
Long known for emotionally resonant songwriting, intimate live performances, and a sound blending indie folk, rock, and cinematic pop, Birds of Bellwoods built a devoted audience through years of touring and collaborative releases. Now continuing under Joffe’s direction, the project enters a more solitary and reflective phase, centred on emotional honesty, vulnerability, and creative reinvention.
With “Corolla,” Birds of Bellwoods offers listeners an unfiltered portrait of the emotional aftermath of change and the quiet endurance required to move forward.
