Ava Della Pietra Drops Hypnotic Pop Track, “3am”
Ava Della Pietra has released her new single “3am” and its accompanying music video, highlighting her growing confidence as a songwriter.
Pop music has always had a fascination with the late-night phone call, the long drive, the quiet moment when emotions surface. Ava Della Pietra builds her new single “3am” around that exact emotional landscape.
The track arrived this week alongside an artfully shot music video that mirrors the song’s sense of repetition and reflection. With the central line “nothing bad’s gonna happen at 3am,” Ava frames the story around the fragile promises people make to themselves when they are trying to keep a relationship alive.
The song moves slowly through that realization. At first, the lyrics lean into reassurance. As the track unfolds, the tone begins to shift. By the final chorus, the comfort of the original phrase starts to feel hollow.
The idea began during a late-night moment of indecision. Ava recorded a voice memo after a friend suggested she “take the night and think it over.” The phrase lingered in her mind and eventually became the opening of the chorus. The next day, she began building the song around the strange emotional gravity of those quiet hours.
Alex Koste’s production gives the song a gentle pulse that supports the lyric without overwhelming it. The arrangement leaves room for Ava’s voice to guide the narrative, moving from quiet vulnerability toward a sense of resolution.
The music video takes a similarly atmospheric approach. Ava drifts through dimly lit spaces where moments repeat themselves like fragments of memory. Small details, such as the presence of clocks or shadowed corridors, create a visual metaphor for emotional loops that refuse to break.
While “3am” focuses on a single relationship story, the song also highlights Ava’s growing confidence as a songwriter. Her releases over the past few years have gradually expanded her sonic palette while sharpening her lyrical perspective.
That development is especially striking given her age. At 20, Ava has already released more than 20 singles and written over 150 songs. Her music has reached listeners around the world, generating more than 37 million streams.
Her early experience in musical theatre still informs her creative instincts. As a child performer, she appeared in Broadway’s School of Rock and toured with Les Misérables. Those years shaped her approach to storytelling and stage presence.
“3am” feels like a snapshot of an artist finding her voice in real time. It captures the quiet moment when illusion begins to fade, and clarity finally arrives.
