TubeFreeks Share Single “Flower” Co-Written with Clint Lowery of Sevendust

Hard rock band TubeFreeks has shared their newest single, “Flower,” co-written with the one and only Clint Lowery of Sevendust, released alongside a brand new music video directed by nationally recognized filmmaker Tom Flynn. With a modern melodic heaviness, the track channels the hook-laden tension of peak post-grunge while staying true to the band’s current intensity and sharp, precise execution. “Flower” speaks directly to heavy rock fans, blending a familiar energy with a fresh, present-day edge that keeps it feeling urgent and current.

From the first note, “Flower” offers a sense of familiarity, yet it’s undeniably contemporary, never trapped in the past. The track carries a sense of forward motion, driven by complex drums and heavy rhythm guitar that create a restless energy throughout the verses. All the while, frontman Paul van Valkenburgh delivers a vocal performance that refuses to blend in, raw, distinct, and unmistakably his own.

There’s also a nod here to hard rock bands that many have come to know and love, and co-writing with Clint Lowery lends a level of authenticity to this. TubeFreeks find themselves firmly ensconced in this style with a sound that has a certain level of freshness, yet it still has their roots firmly planted in the era of large choruses and hooks that are seared into the mind.

Lowery comments about his experience collaborating with the band:

“When I started working with Tubefreeks, I was drawn to the groove of the music, the uniqueness of Paul’s vocals. I always gravitate to working with artists with good work ethics, and they have no shortage of that. Collaborating with them has been such a fulfilling experience.”

Lyrically, “Flower” oscillates between proximity and fallout. “Rays of sunshine, pressure’s in the air, you know I’ll find the wounds inside you” gets right to the heart of how something beautiful can still hurt. The chorus focuses on the moment of distance and failure: “As I walk away, the place I’ve gone to, oh flower, watching me fall.”

The single arrives alongside a music video directed by nationally recognized filmmaker Tom Flynn. Saturated in gold and yellow, the video follows a mysterious woman in a flower crown drifting through tall grass as vocalist van Valkenburgh moves through the maze, drawn to her elusive presence. The video serves to reinforce the band’s commitment to pairing sonic weight with strong visual storytelling. TubeFreeks are anticipated to take the stage this summer, opening for Black Stone Cherry at Gettysburg Bike Week Festival in July 2026.

TubeFreeks continue building their reputation on stage, having toured nationally and sharing bills with artists such as Godsmack, Lamb of God, Stone Temple Pilots, Saliva, Fuel, and Puddle of Mudd. The mission for TubeFreeks is as straightforward as this: write something that gets a person out of their day and gives them a reason to turn it up. “Flower” is another in a long line of achievements for TubeFreeks as they continue their rise into 2026.
