Travis Japan Release New Single “KAGENIMO-HINATANIMO”
Tokyo-based seven-member pop and dance group Travis Japan has released their new single “KAGENIMO-HINATANIMO.”
Tokyo-based seven-member pop and dance group Travis Japan return today with their new single “KAGENIMO-HINATANIMO,” out now on digital platforms. The track serves as the featured song for TV Asahi’s Oshidora Saturday drama Zenbu, Anata no Tame Dakara, which began airing January 10th and stars Travis Japan member Shime.
Based on the novel by Eiji Natsubara, the drama unfolds as a psychological mystery set against the backdrop of a wedding reception disrupted by an attempted poisoning. In the series, Shime portrays a wedding photographer who teams up with the groom to uncover the truth behind the incident, gradually revealing the hidden sides and hypocrisies of those involved.
“KAGENIMO-HINATANIMO” mirrors the drama’s tension and emotional complexity through its cool, fast-paced production and driving beat. Built around themes of “light and shadow” and “front and back,” the song explores the duality within people – the contrast between outward appearances and concealed truths. Calm yet self-assured, with a subtle edge of allure, the track pulls listeners deeper with each listen.
Earlier this month, Travis Japan released “Say I do / Tokyo Crazy Night” [Special Edition] (February 2nd), a refreshed version of last year’s single, re-recorded with all seven members following Noel’s return from hiatus. The Special Edition also makes four tracks – previously available only on the physical CD – accessible digitally for the first time. The group is spotlighting “O-Shan-Tee,” a playful, 1990s-inspired para para anthem that has quickly become a fan favourite and a standout moment on their current nationwide arena tour.
The new releases arrive as Travis Japan continue a prolific period following the December release of their third studio album, travelers. Produced by member Machu (Kaito Matsukura), the album introduced an imaginative, time-travelling concept framed by a strawberry-shaped spaceship motif. Musically, travelers moves fluidly across decades, reinterpreting disco, R&B, hip-hop, ’80s pop, and modern pop through the group’s energetic and joyful performance style, further cementing their identity as versatile, genre-spanning entertainers.
Beyond music, Travis Japan are also expanding their global footprint on screen. The group recently announced “Travis Japan: Summer Vacation!!” In the USA, an upcoming Disney+ docuseries is debuting later this year. Filmed across ten days immediately following their U.S. tour dates, the series follows the seven members as they travel from Arches National Park to Durango, Monument Valley, Sedona, and beyond. Members Genta Matsuda and Umi (Kaito Nakamura) – who have voiced characters in the Japanese versions of Mufasa: The Lion King and Lilo & Stitch, respectively – appeared at Disney’s APAC Showcase in Hong Kong to unveil the project.
Matsuda and Umi share:
“People always wonder how we’re so close, but I hope they can see that in the show.”
Travis Japan have also returned to the road for their third nationwide arena tour, “Travis Japan Concert Tour 2026’s travelers,” bringing their high-impact live performances to audiences across Japan in support of the album. With more activity planned throughout 2026, the group’s momentum – both at home and internationally – shows no signs of slowing.
