Soda Blonde Reveal “Suit & Tie” Single & Debut North American Tour
Dublin alt-pop band Soda Blonde usher in a new chapter with the release of their latest single, “Suit & Tie.” The band has also confirmed their first tour of North America.
Dublin alt-pop band Soda Blonde usher in a new chapter with the release of their latest single, “Suit & Tie.” Where earlier releases explored belief and ambition, the new song, built around industrial guitar, liquid production and a relentless forward pulse, was inspired by Ireland’s recent cultural resurgence.
The band’s Faye O’Rourke says:
“I wrote ‘Suit & Tie’ about my own feelings of un-belonging and displacement. I didn’t grow up with a strong sense of national identity (my mother is from Dublin and my father is from London) and I began to explore my current feelings of loss and isolation through that lens while living in the Liberties, a part of Dublin with a very strong sense of itself. The song became a way of reclaiming something I felt I’d lost.”
After building a devoted following across Ireland, the UK and Europe, Soda Blonde also announces their first tour of North America. The run kicks off September 11 in Detroit and concludes in St. Louis on October 9. Along the way, they will play at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right on September 15 and The Echo in Los Angeles on October 3. Tickets are on sale Friday, February 27, at 10 am local time RIGHT HERE.
