We Out Here Festival announces the second wave of artists coming to Dorset this August. Joining the lineup alongside Mulatu Astatke and Stereolab are iconic jazz saxophonist Gary Bartz, Mercury and BRIT Award–nominated singer-songwriter Joy Crookes, and MOBO Award winner Shabaka Hutchings. Not to mention, legendary jazz-rap trio Digable Planets and UK hip-hop great Kofi Stone.

The beauty of this festival lies in its celebration of both the genre’s pioneers and its emerging talents, whilst paying homage to legends who are no longer with us. Regrettably, last year saw the passing of D’Angelo, a Neo-Soul Giant who reshaped the genre. Austro-British musician Dave Okumu will be honouring his legacy as he presents ‘DVTN: A Prayer For D’Angelo.’

This second wave of artists is not short of gems. Hackney-raised rapper-poet-producer John Glacier will be performing tracks from her incredible new album Like a Ribbon, whilst the newly formed duo of Karriem Riggins and Liv.e a.k.a GENA, will debut their upcoming album The Pleasure is YoursJames K and Blawan aim to bring the weird and wonderful to Wimborne St Giles.

Populating the many tents and dancefloors dotted around the site are some of the world’s greatest selectors: Shy One, Lovie, Calibre, Colleen Cosmo Murphy and Nightmares on Wax, to name a few.

WOH is celebrating its 7th anniversary in style with one of its strongest lineups to date. Festival tickets and information available here.
