Rich Brian brought his “Where Is My Head Tour” to the Vogue Theatre in Vancouver last week.

Returning to the road and releasing music after a long hiatus, the Indonesian rapper opened the North American leg of his tour in the same venue where he performed back in 2019. For this tour, Brian is riding solo, making the night all about him and the fans. He opened his set with “Senja” and “Tokyo Drift Freestyle.”

During the performance, Brian showcased his versatility as an instrumentalist. He played the bass while performing “Body High” and the piano for “History.” He spoke about how difficult the COVID years were for him; because he could not leave the States, he missed the weddings of both siblings, the births of his nephews, and the passing of his dog and cat. This affected him deeply, but he channelled those feelings into a song for the new album titled “Ma.”

Brian closed his set with “Edamame,” a song he collaborated on with local Vancouver rapper bbno$ a few years ago. He then returned to the stage to perform a song dedicated to his late friend, August 08, “Getcho Mans,” before concluding with “Midsummer Madness” and “Jelly Air Island.”
