Mike Green Premieres Music Video for Infectious Single “Bug”
Singer-songwriter Mike Green premieres the music video for “Bug,” the first single from his new album ‘Hang the Moon.’
We are born into a world, and as we grow, it is implied that we accept it as it is, but as Mike Green suggests, that doesn’t mean we can’t question it or push for change. Today, we help debut the music video for Green’s latest single, “Bug.”
There’s a real introspective aspect to Green’s songwriting. He demonstrates himself to be an artist, not content to just rest on his laurels. There’s an edginess to “Bug,” an unsettledness about modern life and its customs. Green proves himself to be a very perceptive artist, with his suspicious mood evident throughout the song. The song itself deals with themes of repetition, inequality, and the implied friction between the things we are taught to accept and the things that lie beneath.
“Bug” is for all of the people who look at substance over fantasy.
“Bug” is an indication of the concept that manifests itself throughout Mike Green’s new record Hang the Moon. Set for release on April 17th, “Bug” paves the way for the album, eight new songs that will feature Green at his most thoughtful and perceptive. Hang the Moon will be particularly appealing to listeners who want a more contemplative pop-rock experience. The songs feature plenty of hooks and catchy parts, but they might also make you think and consider things from different perspectives. It’s an album steeped in weariness, but there is also an uplifting aspect to it. Some of the themes explored include exhaustion and uncertainty. But there is a hopefulness to it all, an inkling and desire to work your way towards hope, but with clarity and without naivete.
Hang the Moon is the Connecticut native Green’s sophomore record. It will be mastered and presented exclusively in Dolby Atmos, with Green taking the presentation of his music very seriously. Green invites you into a vivid world of sonic escape, a dream-pop environment that’s a little bit dark, but not dark enough to bring you down.
