Melanie Martinez Releases Sardonic, Commanding Single, “Disney Princess”
Melanie Martinez continues paving the road to her forthcoming album, ‘Hades,’ with the release of the sardonic and instantly commanding “Disney Princess.”
The multi-platinum, multi-hyphenate force, Melanie Martinez, continues paving the road to her forthcoming album, Hades, with the release of the sardonic and instantly commanding “Disney Princess.” A razor-sharp mockery of society’s commodification of women, the track reframes the idea of “selling your soul” as something far more insidious.
Speaking on the track, Melanie shares:
“I love writing about the entertainment industry and how it affects women. It’s a perfect microcosm of the world around us, how numb and disconnected you can become if you allow others to commodify you.”
True to form, Melanie doesn’t simply write songs — she architects immersive worlds with meticulous precision. This new era unfolds as a dystopian, cinematic universe that feels less like fantasy and more like a warped reflection of our own reality.
