Malevolence Release “Silhouette” Single & Video via MLVLTD MUSIC
Malevolence unveil surprise single “Silhouette,” launching independent imprint MLVLTD MUSIC ahead of Slam Dunk Festival 2026 appearance.
Steel City metal heavyweights Malevolence have surprise-released their new single, “Silhouette,” marking the beginning of a new chapter for the band as they move to release music independently via their own imprint, MLVLTD MUSIC. The track arrives without prior announcement and is available now across streaming platforms, accompanied by an official music video.
Known for their relentless, breakdown-driven sound, Malevolence take a different approach on “Silhouette”. Released over Valentine’s weekend, the track presents a more introspective and melodic side of the band. Built around delicate guitar work and blues-influenced passages, the song expands into a sombre, expansive chorus, with guitarist and vocalist Konan Hall delivering one of his most emotionally focused vocal performances to date.
Commenting on the release, the band said:
“Surprise! This one is for the lovers. Go listen to our brand new single on all streaming services this Valentines weekend, released independently on our very own label MLVLTD MUSIC. We have of course been known to flirt with the ballads in the past but this one feels like a real step outside our comfort zone of the aggressive mosh parts and breakdowns that people have come to expect. It’s nice to get vulnerable for once, flex our songwriting muscles and show the world that we have much more to offer as musicians than what might meet the eye.”
The single follows a landmark year for the band, which saw the release of their album Where Only The Truth Is Spoken. The record reached No.1 on the UK Rock & Metal Chart and No.33 on the UK Official Album Chart, a notable achievement for an independent metal act. The band also delivered a widely discussed secret set at Download Festival 2025 before closing the year with their largest UK headline shows to date at Manchester’s O2 Victoria Warehouse and London’s O2 Academy Brixton.
Looking ahead, Malevolence are set to appear at Slam Dunk Festival 2026, joining a bill that includes Knocked Loose, Bury Tomorrow, President and Guilt Trip. The festival’s 20th anniversary edition, taking place May 23rd and 24th, will be the first to feature two dedicated heavy stages.
