Finnish melodic metal band JÛN have released their first video single, “Inception of Isolation.” The project started in 2024 as a writing partnership between guitarists Jukka Keskinen and Marko Mannikko. As the songs kept coming, it stopped being something to keep on a hard drive and grew into a full band, with members also known from acts such as Pain Confessor and Shrapnel Storm.
“Inception of Isolation” sets the tone for what JÛN are about. It is melodic metal with a strong atmospheric pull, moving between clean, memorable leads and heavier, more aggressive sections. The song keeps its forward motion, even when the rhythm shifts and the time signatures start to turn.
The band has now released its debut single “Inception of Isolation,” whose lyrics lead guitarist Keskinen describes as follows:
“Historically, people have never been more reachable than in modern society, and yet individual isolation has become a remarkably common phenomenon. The song challenges us to consider whether this isolation is a golden cage built by the individual, or whether the great wheels of the societal machine are driving people toward this downfall. Once the final words have been spoken, Insomnium’s Tomy Laisto carries the listeners on one last journey with his solo, sealing the song’s ultimate spirit.”
