Sydney-based singer/songwriter Georgina Makdessi is starting 2026 off on a strong note with the release of her new single “You Won’t Break Me.” It’s her first release of the year and a clear statement of strength, confidence, and refusing to stay down.

Makdessi, a classically trained artist, earned a Diploma in Recital in Voice from Trinity College London before shifting her focus to pop music. Over the years, she’s built out a strong catalog of songs that focus on authentic emotions and personal growth. This latest release continues that trend with an even more direct, no-nonsense tone.

“You Won’t Break Me” speaks about reaching your limit and taking control back. Lyrics like “I had enough of lies and betrayal” and “I’m made of tougher stuff” state exactly what they mean. The repeated chorus, “You won’t break me,” drives the message home, turning the song into an anthem for anyone who’s been pushed too far.

“You Won’t Break Me” was co-written with Brisbane-based singer/songwriter Justin Mark Dunford, who also co-produced the track with Michael Sinclair. It was recorded at Glasshouse Studios in the Glasshouse Mountains, mixed at Blackhaus Studios in Adelaide, and mastered by Paul Stefanidis at Viking Lounge in Sydney.
