Eric Hirshberg Reveals Single & Video, “We’re All In This Alone”
Singer-songwriter Erich Hirshberg has released his new single “We’re All In This Alone” and its accompanying music video.
Eric Hirshberg says the guitar line at the heart of “We’re All In This Alone” has been following him around for years. It sat on a mental list of unfinished ideas until something about this moment made it click. The result is a track that feels lived-in before it even reaches the first chorus.
On the surface, the song addresses the algorithm – the invisible architecture that filters what we see and nudges what we think. But at its core, the track is about disorientation. Hirshberg captures that uneasy drift from curiosity to confusion in a way that feels personal rather than polemical.
Coming off the visibility of “For Real,” his collaboration with Aloe Blacc that earned him a national TV debut and strong press attention, “We’re All In This Alone” takes a quieter route. There is no grand gesture here. The production expands gradually, giving space to the lyric to do its work.
Hirshberg’s vocal delivery leans into restraint. He does not oversell the concept. Instead, he lets phrases hang, particularly in lines that describe how easily a harmless search can spiral into something unrecognizable. It mirrors the emotional trajectory of the song itself.
What stands out most is the structural patience. The arrangement builds cinematically but never overwhelms the writing. The guitar motif, which he describes as a collaboration between his younger and older selves, becomes a subtle metaphor for integration – creative ideas waiting for their right context.
That idea of integration tracks with Hirshberg’s broader story. After years leading major entertainment brands, he has shifted his focus toward songwriting that explores modern anxieties without collapsing into cynicism. The transition does not feel impulsive. It feels considered.
“We’re All In This Alone” also points toward his upcoming album, More Is Not The Answer, expected in mid-2026. If this single is any indication, the project will continue to explore the friction between connection and overload, intimacy and infrastructure.
The new single and its official video are out now. For listeners who discovered Hirshberg through “For Real,” this track expands the picture. It suggests an artist who is still assembling the pieces – and letting us watch that process in real time.
