Digital Music Marketplace Incantio Leaving Closed Beta on February 18th
Digital music marketplace Incantio has announced that it will be entering open beta on February 18th, 2026.
Incantio, the new digital music marketplace (founded by professional musicians) to provide independent music for content creators, is very pleased to announce that it will be entering open beta on February 18th, 2026. Check out the official website.
The sync licensing world seems perennially out of touch for most artists. Incantio began with the idea that artists need to have an easier way of licensing their tracks for sync, keeping their rights, and having their music be findable, and getting licensed and paid through an automated system.
Say founder Danny Newcomb:
“As a recording musician myself, I wanted a service to exist that would let me self-license my own works – that was why I started Incantio. We had to create a legal system of pre-approved rights for our catalogue musicians so that our customers could safely and quickly find the music they wanted, directly on the artist’s terms. A kind of Etsy for independent music built for brands and advertisers. After two long years of development, we are so excited to be available to connect visual artists who use music and want human, authentic sounds that connect with their audience!”
Incantio is poised to become the best licensing platform for independent musicians in the global sync market. By using a music-to-music, machine learning search engine, Incantio can filter their diverse catalogue without hashtags. And the catalogue itself is very different from most in that it is not static. Songs on Incantio will always be changing as musicians update their catalogues, and their fast search can automatically update previous queries by bringing new music to the customer.
Chirag Patel of A2im states:
“One of A2IM’s core missions is to help our members unlock new opportunities for their catalogues. By building infrastructure that simplifies and modernizes sync licensing, Incantio is lowering barriers for independent labels and artists while making it easier for music supervisors and agents to discover and license great indie music. What makes Incantio especially compelling is that it’s being built by independent artists who deeply understand the challenges of navigating the sync ecosystem.”
Jen Oloo, CRO DISCO, adds:
“For the past ten years, DISCO has been central to music licensing, focusing on increased efficiency for the entire ecosystem. It’s encouraging to see Incantio thinking creatively about discovery and licensing, working to provide a space where established and emerging indie artists aren’t just welcome, they’re discoverable.”
Incantio is a pass-through platform for independent songwriters and composers, allowing the creators to price their own works for tiered uses, and thus be immediately licensable for those uses.
- Incantio is non-exclusive
- Artists keep 80 percent of any placement
- Music directors find reasonably priced music
- All music is pre-cleared for use with a global and for life of project license
- Artists control their pricing
- Artists can promote and keep their IP to monetize on Incantio
- Direct payments to all rights-holders’ accounts when a song is licensed
- Incantio recommends entire catalogue tracks for independent labels and catalogues
- Incantio is coming out of closed beta with 500 users already onboard
- Working with Legacy artists for exclusive licensing releases
Incantio has partnered with CD Baby, introducing them to their artist community of two million. A2im will offer Incantio as a spotlight service for their members (which is currently more than 800 independent labels). Incantio has also partnered with DISCO, the world’s most popular music sharing platform for music supervisors and labels and will be a one-stop licensing mechanism on their global platform.
Equally important to Incantio’s business partnerships have been our conversations with interested legacy artists, indie artists and producers. From Jarobi White (original member of A Tribe Called Quest), to Macy Gray and Mike McCready, to producers Steve Fisk and John Goodmanson, to Silverback Records and Akela Family labels, more artists are partnering with Incantio every day.
