Yesterday’s Hero Premiere Their Explosive “Road of Doom” Music Video
Hard rockers Yesterday’s Hero premiere the music video for “Road of Doom” from their 2023 album ‘Ways To Hate.’
With the market for big, bad, and bold hard rock music not exactly what it once was, you have to truly appreciate bands like Yesterday’s Hero. The band returns today with the music video for “Road of Doom,” found on the group’s 2024 debut album Ways To Hate.
Propelled by some rather heavy guitar riffs and grooves, the video clip helps emphasize how badass this Northwestern Ohio quintet really are. We previously featured the boys in Yesterday’s Hero back at the end of 2023 with the premiere of their music video for “Bounce.” They have become well-regarded as a “good time” band, the type that will tear the stage up and bring the house down.
Discussing the song and the video, guitarist Tony Smith tells us:
“This track was born unexpectedly during a rehearsal and quickly became an anthem for everything we were fighting through at the time. The video, shot three years ago and brought to life by director/editor Jarod Hewett, felt like something we might never actually get to share. Now that it’s finally seeing daylight, it marks the final chapter of our Ways to Hate debut era.
“As we close that door, we’re deep into finishing our sophomore album, set for release this fall. The first single is on track to drop in late February, and we can’t wait to show you what’s next.”
Ways To Hate was predicated on an old-school approach. Growing up on meat and potatoes hard rock and metal, Yesterday’s Hero is not a band trying to reinvent the wheel. The album was intentionally recorded on analog tape to help capture that classic hard rock sound and spirit. It was also recorded more as a whole rather than a group of songs, similar to the album rock bands of the 1970s that are now regarded as legendary. Each track was designed to flow right into the next one, hashing out the emotional fallout of the end of a tempestuous relationship. They employ an energetic approach to songwriting, with melodies and grooves that can pack a moshpit.
As we said in that premiere of “Bounce,” this is a small-town band with a big-time sound. This is an adrenaline-fueled hard rock not meant for the faint of heart. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.
