Train Room Premiere the Nostalgic Single “Old Dizzy”
Indie band Train Room premiere their brand new single “Old Dizzy,” the first single from their new album ‘Station Road.’
After a few years away, Train Room makes their triumphant return with the new single “Old Dizzy.” No matter the size of the act, large or small, hiatuses require a worthwhile reason for people to start caring again. And singer-songwriter Joe Monaghan has come through on that with a nice retrospective and relatable track.
Thematically, “Old Dizzy” is a reflection on Mohaghan’s youth. It’s full of heartwarming nostalgia that will appeal to listeners of any age. It’s full of melodic hooks, thoughtful lyrics, and has a very radio-friendly sound. What’s nice about the song is that you don’t have to be a fan of any particular musical era to enjoy this. Whether you like ’60s folk-pop or ’90s alternative, this is a song that will appeal to you.
With a comment on the song, Monaghan states:
“‘Old Dizzy’ reflects through lyrics and arrangements, a picture of my youth, friendship, love, and love lost, when living the teenage life in the west of Ireland in the 1990s. My favourite recorded song to date, and proud to have self-produced it.”
“Old Dizzy” comes as the first single from the new Train Room album Station Road, which is due for release on April 3rd. It’s been a long time coming for fans of Monaghan’s songwriting project, the first new song from him in over three years. He has taken his time with Station Road, wanting it to build off of 2021’s debut, Hurricane of Love. The album will feature ten brand new tracks, showing off Monaghan’s evolving musical sounds and tastes. He has worked very hard over the last several years, honing and building his songwriting and production skills. It’s been a slow and steady process that has paid off for Monaghan with a return to the live circuit set for April, which will include an Irish tour.
If you like no-nonsense modern indie rock, you’ll find something to love with Train Room.
