When Miist talks about mental health, she rarely uses clinical language. Instead, she speaks in seconds. Fifteen of them, to be exact.

That idea sits at the center of Make Me Smile with Miist, her podcast now ranked among the Top 10 mental health shows in the United States. Each episode ends with a “15-second action,” a small, concrete practice listeners can try immediately, whether it is sending a message, expressing gratitude, or simply noticing someone else.

The podcast is one part of a larger creative framework Miist is bringing into focus in 2026 under the name The Love Project. Anchored by the upcoming single “Love Will Show Us the Way,” the project weaves together music, storytelling, and tools designed to counter loneliness and disconnection.

Miist’s interest in these themes is rooted in lived experience. Abandoned at age five and later surviving a terminal cancer diagnosis in her late 20s, she describes music as a language she discovered later in life, after years of carrying experiences she could not articulate. Songwriting, which began in her 30s without formal training, became a way to reconnect both internally and socially.

That reconnection has since expanded outward. Her 2025 release, “Could You Lend Me a Smile,” began as a response to the story of a man who died alone in Tokyo and grew into a global collaboration spanning 16 languages. The project invited artists and audiences into a shared act of remembrance and presence, setting the stage for what followed.

The Love Project continues that thread, particularly through audience participation. Miist has invited fans to submit short video clips showing everyday acts of kindness for the video accompanying “Love Will Show Us the Way.” The aim is not performance, but recognition. A hug. A smile. Showing up. “Let’s show everyone we can change our world,” she told participants.

Her approach to the upcoming GRAMMY Awards reflects the same values. For the second year in a row, Miist is giving away two guest tickets to fans whose stories resonate with her personally. The invitation reframes the event as an emotional milestone rather than an industry credential.

Later this year, Miist will release a companion book to her podcast, also titled Make Me Smile with Miist. Designed around short chapters and music-integrated reflection, the book emphasizes accessibility over instruction. The goal is not mastery, but momentum.

Across music, podcasting, and print, Miist’s work suggests that care can be practiced in brief moments, repeated daily. In a cultural climate that often demands sweeping change, her focus on small actions feels both grounded and quietly ambitious.
