Cowboy Simple Releases New Single “Sunrise With U”
Cowboy Simple couldn’t let 2025 end without giving listeners one last song. “Sunrise With U” is an upbeat and smooth new single that sits perfectly in the space between happy and sad. The track has an infectious, easy feel but the message in the lyrics deliver a deeper sense of reflection.
Cowboy Simple is a group formed by Australian music veterans Joshua Beagley and Roland Kapferer, best known for their band SWOOP and their ’90s hit “Apple Eyes”. After decades exploring funk, soul, pop, and underground club culture, the pair have reunited with a new love for American roots music, country-soul, and classic songwriting. Listeners get little bits of all those elements wrapped up together on this new release.
“Things don’t stay the same. No matter how much we wish they would.”
“Sunrise With U” sounds like a song playing on an AM radio in the mid-’70s, with acoustic and slide guitars, Fender Rhodes, and a loose, flowing bassline. Lyrically, it’s about the moment you fall in love, that sunrise where everything feels right, and the quiet truth that time keeps moving no matter how much you wish it wouldn’t.
It’s not heartbreak. It’s a memory. And it’s beautifully human.
