Burwoodland, a leading producer of touring themed nightlife experiences, announced today that entrepreneur and investor Mark Cuban has made a significant investment in the company. The partnership marks an important milestone for Burwoodland, whose portfolio of branded events has expanded across the U.S., Canada, and Europe.

Founded by lifelong best friends Alex Badanes and Ethan Maccoby, Burwoodland produces more than 1,200 shows annually under owned brands including Emo Night Brooklyn, Gimme Gimme Disco, Broadway Rave, and its emerging indie rock party All Your Friends. Together, these brands have sold more than 1.5 million tickets and cultivated dedicated fan bases across multiple generations and genres.

Burwoodland’s growth has also been supported by a group of strategic partners, including industry leaders Izzy Zivkovic (Split Second) and Peter Shapiro (Brooklyn Bowl), as well as Klaf Companies, the investment and advisory platform founded by Justin Kalifowitz.

Cuban comments:

“It’s time we all got off our asses, left the house and had fun. Alex and Ethan know how to create amazing memories and experiences that people plan their weeks around. In an AI world, what you do is far more important than what you prompt.”

Ethan and I started this company because we know firsthand how powerful it is to find your people through the music you love. That sense of community shaped our lives, and creating spaces where others can feel that connection has always been our purpose. Having the confidence of an investor as respected and accomplished as Mark is a tremendous honor,” said Badanes, Co-Founder & Co-CEO of Burwoodland.

None of this would be possible without our team. For a group as small as ours, their creativity, passion, and relentless dedication are the driving force behind everything we do. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built and excited for what’s ahead,” said Maccoby, Co-Founder & Co-CEO of Burwoodland.

Born in 2003, V13 was a socio-political website that morphed into PureGrainAudio in 2005 and spent 15 years developing into one of Canada's (and the world’s) leading music sites. On the eve of the site’s 15th anniversary, a full relaunch and rebrand took us back to our roots and opened the door to a full suite of Music, Entertainment, and cultural content.
