Oslo-based alt-pop and electronic artist Torgny Amdam returns today with his new single “Kjæresten min” (My Girlfriend). The single marks the second release from his upcoming concept album Air Mail.

Following the recent single Just Cry,” a collaboration with his daughter April, the track showcases Amdam at his most vulnerable, exploring themes of emotional distance, connection, and the shifting boundaries within relationships.

Built around Amdam’s spoken Norwegian vocal and a Crumar electric piano, “Kjæresten min” gradually expands into a reverb-heavy guitar passage that mirrors the emotional weight of the lyrics.

Amdam explains:

“Relationships come and go throughout your life—even the closest and strongest ones. This song is an attempt to shine a light on that.”

The English-language lyric video accompanying the single builds on the visual language introduced in “Just Cry”, combining diary-like text with analog photographs sourced from Las Vegas and 1990s California. “Kjæresten min” also deepens the spoken-word style Amdam began developing on his 2019 album Bathroom Stall Confessional, blending minimal production with influences reminiscent of Trent Reznor and Daniel Avery. Through electronica and breakbeat-inflected textures, the new track contributes another personal entry to Amdam’s evolving body of work.

Air Mail, described as Amdam’s most personal release to date, arrives in February 2026 via Telemachus Records.
