For Naty, there isn’t necessarily any grand plan. She is just a musician who enjoys making music. Really, it’s as simple as that.

Today, we are here to help debut her brand new single “Patti & Fred.” This is the first new music we have heard from her since the release of her debut album Just a Drummer this past March. A soft, acoustic, vocal-driven number with gentle instruments, “Patti & Fred” is, if anything, soothing and comforting. Naty was inspired to write the song after reading M Train, legendary singer, songwriter, and poet Patti Smith’s 2015 memoir. The song is about the beautiful, yet fleeting, moments we spend with loved ones. Those moments come, but go away quickly, yet they help give meaning to our whole existence. Recorded in Tokyo on her recent tour of Japan, the city was relevant to the songwriting process.

Commenting on the song, Giachino shares:

“The song is about those beautiful fleeting moments spent with a loved one that go away so quickly but give meaning to our whole existence.”

Naty Giachino, the singer-songwriter, was born in Uruguay and currently lives in Britain. She has spent a large chunk of her career lending her talents to other musicians’ songwriting projects. She contributed her abilities as an instrumentalist and became well-versed in helping others write and record. It wasn’t until much more recently that Naty began to write and record her own songs. It was just last year that she released the aforementioned Just a Drummer, which was in many ways a showcase of her abilities as a songwriter. She sang, produced, and did most of the drumming on the album with British artist Alex Scarfe assisting on guitar and bass. As an artist, Naty seeks musical diversity, with a focus on storytelling, honesty, and artistic integrity. It’s that personal touch which makes her an artist worth paying attention to.
