Singer-songwriter Leo Sawikin unveils his new single, “Where I’m Running,” produced by Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Band of Horses, The Shins) and lifted from Sawikin’s upcoming EP, The Edge of Everything.

Talking about “Where I’m Running,’ Sawikin says, “The song is about wanting to escape an easy life for something more exciting and dangerous. The song started from a riff idea I had and came together really quickly compared to a lot of other things I’ve written.

Sawikin broke through last year with the release of the title track, “Till You’re Somebody Else,” of his 2025 album. The song topped Mediabase’s A/C Independent Artists Chart and slotted in at #26 on Billboard’s AC Chart. Another song, “The Same Mistakes,” from the same album, amassed more than 244,000 streams on Spotify alone.

“Where I’m Running” opens on gleaming, jangly guitars riding a pushing mid-tempo rhythm. Shimmering layers form a smiling, feel-good melody that coruscates with beguiling sonic surfaces. Sawikin’s deliciously evocative vocals – a dreamsicle voice – imbue the lyrics with creamy, easy-to-listen-to tones. For some reason, this song conjures up suggestions of Christopher Cross, only more vivid.
